It is common practice in paganism and witchcraft to hang a broom above, beside, or on the door. The idea behind it is to create a barrier/filter to keep out negative energy, unwanted guests, and evil spirits while welcoming in positive energy and joyful gatherings into the home. The broom symbolized the act of sweeping out the bad and sweeping in the good.
This one of a kind door broom is made with dyed blue broomcorn tied onto an ash wood handle. It is stitched flat with periwinkle twine. It features a moonstone oval encircled by dried strawflower, quartz points, and pebbles collected on the coast of Northern California. There is a braided loop of twine at the top for hanging.
The Moonstone Door Broom represents intuition, balance, a siren’s song, and the calm after the storm.
