Round Door Broom/Small Besom: Kit & Video Tutorial
Please ready this whole description before purchasing!
There’s nothing quite like making a ritual tool with your own two hands! Craft and adorn your very own round-stitched door broom or small besom, weaving in your intentions and magic as you go. With customizable colors and guidance on adding magical adornments, this offering is perfect for any crafty witch that wants to bring some protection and enchantment to their hearth!
Difficulty ranking: 2/3
The broom style I’ll be teaching in this tutorial is most similar to what is traditionally known as a Hearth Broom. It is a short-handled broom that is stitched round — making it perfect to hang above or beside the door.
This is a pre-recorded tutorial video with a shipped kit. Here’s what the kit will include:
A bundle of natural broomcorn for the base layer of the bristle
A bundle of broomcorn in the color of your choice to layer over the top of the bristle
A kiln-dried hardwood handle
A dowel wrapped with nylon twine in the color of your choice (color will be selected after you click “add to cart”)
A stitching needle
Materials you will need that are not included in the kit:
Scissors
A lighter/matches
A sharp knife
A drill
Optional: a cutting board
Optional but encouraged: magical adornments
The focus of this tutorial will be on creating a broom for ritual/magical use. Adornments for your broom are not included, but you will receive a free link to my Broom Adornments ebook for inspiration and guidance on choosing adornments if you wish.
Optional add on: if you’d like to add a woven cap to your door broom, select the add on that appears below this listing. The add on will include broomcorn stalks and a tutorial video on how to weave a cap over the neck of your broom.
For this add on you’ll need:
a jar to soak your stalks in
a hand towel for your lap
*Important: After purchasing, you’ll receive an email with your tutorial video link and password, the Broom Adornments ebook, and a tool/supply list. Please make sure you’re signed up to receive email marketing before purchasing to ensure the email doesn’t go to spam! If you don’t see the email after purchasing, please check your spam/junk folder.
Shipping Policy
I currently ship to the contiguous US only. Orders are primarily shipped with USPS or UPS. Kits will be shipped within 1-2 weeks of your order (sometimes I need a little extra time to reorder supplies, so please plan accordingly and order ahead of time if you need them by a certain date).
Return Policy
I do not offer returns or exchanges, but please contact me if something in your kit arrives damaged.
